Movie Review: Interstellar (2014)

Adventure | Sci-Fi

Apparently this is the best sci-fi I have ever watched. This movie is a journey of love, a masterpiece of human reach and a wrenching tale of survival. Bringing the real visuals of most astonishing facts and objects of our vast universe, this is sheer brilliance of Christopher Nolan and team. A journey from earth to our empty space, wormholes to black holes, planets to distant galaxies, they made everything is graceful  for the understanding of the viewer.

A time traveler`s logic and gravity itself playing a vital role in the entire story. Physics explained here is true and exact. This movie is Nolan`s best work up till now. Marvelous design of everything, beautiful colors of celestial objects, black hole, wormhole and everything.

Star cast lead Matthew McConaughey does what he is best in and supposed to, simply great in his style. Not to forget the epic composer Hans Zimmer. His work is already reached a level beyond measure, someone who made background scoring for Inception, The Dark Knight trilogy and many epic movies, you can expect something big here and yes you get it. Science fiction requires superior sounds to enchant the viewer and Zimmer`s composition will surely blow your mind (listen closely when watch the movie). Based on the script and original idea released, this movie is itself is an epitome of splendid creation.

Do not expect action-packed fighting scenes, try to get the best out of the movie, every dialog is crafted as it required. For me, this is a must watch movie. Specially for science and fiction lovers. I am totally in love with this movie and everyone should watch it once.

Movie Review : Transformers: Age of Extinction

Transformers: Age of Extinction
Genre: Action | Adventure | Sci-Fi

A Review
This is by far the best Transformers movie from the series I think. Bringing everything on the zenith of destruction and on the edge of extinction Auto bot`s battle of survival and revenge of the fallen. Director Michael Bay managed to put everything together when it comes to visuals, screenplay, script and individual role play of the actors/actresses.

Being one of the most awaited movies of this year, Transformers: Age of Extinction satisfied everything. The plot of the movie is on point, the storyline is just average and many robust dialogues as needed in such high octane movies. Action, destruction, and transformation can actually surprise you at many sequences. They bring all scurrying hot cars of the present generation (Lamborghini, Pagani, Bugatti and so on). The way everything transforms from a moving car to a giant electrifying robot is brilliant as always.

Mark Wahlberg, as always strong enough in expressing the real emotion of every dialogue. All the supporting stars did well and justified their roles in the movie. Apart from all human characters, technological usage is beautiful.

This movie left an impression about the uncontrollable involvement of humans in all aspects. An edged battle of Auto bots and Decepticons and then a human race on the verge of extinction just because of creating their own robots to conquer the Auto bots.

Well, we all know Optimus Prime, the awe-inspiring, compassionate leader. Along with his co-auto bots really made the movie entertaining and throttling.

Bottom line: Expect less, enjoy more. Average storyline, superb action and 3D sequences.
Decent background scoring to add another element to the special moments.

My rating: 7.5/10

Movie Review : Godzilla

Godzilla
A Review :
Gareth Edwards the director famous for darker compositions and deep compilations in Hollywood movies, this time failed to make something extraordinary. Godzilla being one of the most lethal monsters doesn’t come up the way it should have been in the movie. While from the start Brian Cranston`s took the movie on a decent pace and moving ahead the same story of Hollywood brought up. Aaron Taylor Johnson turned up into a hero later on as the successor of his scientist father. Acting of spot players in the movie is always remains in focus, but this movie lacks it. The tale of ignoring the theories, calculations and facts of old scientists always gets end up with mass destruction. From Japan to USA devastation was the same. Warships, Jet planes, hell lot of ammunition and nuclear warheads all of no use when they have a monster like Godzilla. Woken up from the deep ocean and land masses, the character design of Godzilla is absolutely brilliant. Giant, destructive Godzilla was the only thing I would appreciate about the movie.
Second half of the movie started with static pace and the fight between the monsters spread enough bloodshed and destruction to human race.
Animation, Background scoring, 3D effects and screen play is OK. I wish they would have delivered somewhere near the trailers of the movie.
My rating : 6/10

Book Review : Manuscript found in Accra - Paolo Coelho

Manuscript found in Accra is a tale of wisdom entangled with ancient philosophies.

Ever since I read “The Alchemist “I started loving the way Paolo Coelho writes about wisdom. Coelho wrote this book in even better manner, with the bitter reality and eagerness of human behavior scripted in such a beautiful way; anyone can read this book many times as required. According to me it’s not a novel, this book is a holy set of wisely written answers of very fundamental questions. I can guarantee no matter many times you read this book, you will always get a different message. This is the best thing about Coelho`s work. You should read slowly and understand the significance of every word used to pass the message.

The Copt or Greek speaker gathers in the Holy city to share his wisdom with the masses. After the Copt's initial speech, he offers to answer questions from the crowd. He answers questions based on anxiety, love, loyalty, sex, death, war, beauty and much more. Each chapter is full of quotable wisdom and inspiration.. It is beautifully written and the gist of it is the message that your reactions/feelings/internal thoughts on anything that happens in this world whether to you personally or at a distance are what ultimately makes that event what it is, be it tragedy or love.

Those who read self help books and love reading the words of wisdom. This one should be in your list. The best part is the cost, very less and indeed a treasure of wisdom.

Best lines :
“Anxiety was born in the very same moment as mankind. And since we will never be able to master it, we will have to learn to live with it—just as we have learned to live with storms.”

Destination 3: Solang ValleyHimachal Pradesh

To reach Solang Valley one needs to travel back to Kasol followed by Kullu> Manali> Solang Valley.Total distance is 95 kms from Manikaran and approx 3 hours required to reach Solang. Solang Valley is beautiful place surrounded by snow capped mountains. During the months of April till July adventure sports like Paragliding, Zorbing and Skiing can be done. In the night we went out for camping near Nullah (water stream). One of the most starry nights we witnessed.

Day 3: Left Solang valley to visit Gulaba.

Destination 4: GulabaHimachal Pradesh

Our journey covered by snow was about to start. Gulaba is a small village which comes on the way to Rohtang. Followed by Kothi, which is a small village where accommodations and food can be found. We asked the route from locals to reach the place and we had no idea what kind of place this would be. One can witness most blissful scenes from Gulaba of HP.

Day 4: Left from Kothi for Mandi

Destination 5 : Prashar LakeHimachal Pradesh

At 2730m altitude. Prashar Lake is surrounded by mountains and only mountains. Approx 10-15 houses and one temple of saint Prashar. This place is like heaven at such a huge height. The way towards Prashar lake is not straight. One needs to travel off road for almost 50kms from Mandi.

Situated on the basin of holy Ganga, this place is also popular as the only bungee jump location in India. One needs to travel for approx 20 Kms from Rishkesh. You can also stay in tents/camps after Shivpuri. They offer stay in tents for 2-4 people capacity on white sand and big stones. Their package also includes several adventure sports like Kayaking, Rafting and Volleyball too.

We have also done Bungee Jumping from 83m at Jumpin heights which is 13kms from Shivpuri.

Day 6: Left for New Delhi from Rishikesh.

For 6 days we had infinite fun and thrill. Every place mentioned above is a must visit place. For all the off road driving lovers, this entire tour is phenomenal. There are many places in HP to visit but due to high commercialization  and public reach the beauty is not the same as of earlier. We decided these place because all are less populated and people often don`t visit.

Here are some group photos of ours :)

Recommendations:

1. Bring at least 3 layers of woolens whenever you visit between April to June.
2. Medicines for Cold, cough and fever.
3. Must keep these things with yourself always rope, knife, torch.
4. Fuel for 200kms in tank. Due to less number of petrol pumps.
5. Have cash minimum 2000 at any time. ATMs are available everywhere but we often found them inactive.
6. ID proofs of all persons.
